They're going to have to sell stuff at mine to pay for my funeral. With raising five kids, I may have a balance due on the plot.

That’s why I am being cremated and have my remains tossed on the side of a mountain where my wife is.

A burial is a big ripoff. You pay for a casket, the vault, the burial plot, and the people who dig the whole and bury it. My wife’s cremation was $2,500. My son knows what to do with me and I don’t want him to go to some great expense.

I want to be scattered so nobody has to deal with them. I don’t want some great-grandchild who never met me be stuck with them and no idea what to do with them.

One of my favorite memories of growing up was making sand castles with my grandfather, but then my mom hid his urn.

My wife and I are donating our bodies to science (specifically, a school that uses donated cadavers to teach medical students). After that they cremate whatever is left and that can be handled however we wish. I don't really care what happens - they can flush me for all I care - I'll let the chirruns decide.

Culturally we have evolved into one that virtually "worships" the dead." Expensive caskets, vaults--even grave markers. Cremation is not only the way to go, it is much more economical. When it first became a "thing" it was much cheaper -- $750 or so. Now that over ½ of burials are by cremation, the prices have risen exorbitantly. People are very vulnerable when a loved one has died and very easy to "extort." Do you really need a limo to ride to and from the church?

Keep it simple...I am being cremated as well. Ashes will probably be in a columbarium, although personally I really don't care.

Free of charge, I can put you in my smoker and smoke you over some good hickory and pecan wood and sprinkle your ashes with some good BBQ sauce and then dump you over Bryant Denny!!!

I think it was George Carlin who said he was going to donate his body to science, specifically the science of bringing dead people back to life.

GLENDALE, AZ — Revival seems poised to sweep around the globe, as an enormous Nazi rally held at State Farm Stadium reportedly inspired millions of people throughout the world to forgive and love their enemies.

The worldwide stirring of forgiveness resulted from the unprecedented Nazi gathering, as hundreds of thousands of bigoted, fascist attendees met to use their evil hatred to spread a message of love and salvation from sin.

Heather Held Hostage, Day 11

But just remember, she has a net worth of over $4 million and it ain’t because “in 1492 columbus sailed the ocean blue”.

I have debated that simply because of my brain, it’s not like I’ll need it in eternity anyway, but then I remember I just don’t care all that much for people that I know now.

i heard about that this morning. Bizarre.

Reminded me of another bizarre incident in a Nebraska courtroom three years ago.
