Christmas Day Practice for Bowl Game!!

Whatever it takes to make winners out of this team. I worked on Christmas day many days thru my career and it didn't kill me or take away my love for family.Sometimes you have to do what it takes to get the job done.

I sure hope this will get the team focused and ready to go out and end the season on a great note. Sure would be nice to whip up on somebody going into the spring.

Well Said:biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2:!!!!!

Had they not given up the last four games of the season, I might consider this overboard. After the ULM game, I wouldn't excuse them from practice for witnessing the birth of their child.

If this team had lived up to their expectations and won two of those last four games, they might have been given Christmas Day off.
CNS is still trying to make decent football players of these guys. They earned the right and privilege of practicing on Christmas Day.

Good grief!
They have 50, 60 or more Christmases in their lives, but only four years to play college football. For many, it'll be the last few days to ever play or wear the uniform. I don't think their lives will be forever shattered by practicing on Christmas day. :rolleyes:

They have had time off like right now, it's not like they are held prisoner in Tuscaloosa right now. There are plenty of people who move events around for Christmas and football games. And heck there are bowl games on Christmas, practicing for one isn't a big deal.

:biga2:

You know Christmas is not all about seeing your families either. Its also a day to honor Jesus. Maybe I'm just old school, but I was brought up to take Sundays off, and give praise to the Lord, as well as major religous holidays. I am not a very big fan of practicing on Christmas and think it is awful these kids are forced to practice on this major religous day. No flame against Saban but some things you just don't do in my book. I am a very big football fan and a huge fan of Alabama football and of course I want us to win but you have to remember that it is still just a game.

Oh my lord...its not like they are practicing a whole day, its just a few hours. They are all going to be away from home due to the bowl game anyway. I've had a christmas away from my family once. You gather around those who you're with and find a way to enjoy it. Besides, this football team needs to learn to be a family. As for the whole religious argument, some people are taking this thing too seriously. Maybe next you'll call them sinners for working on the sabbath? Lets get a grip folks.
