Particularly with the present NIL situation, I'm not sure how important that is. Indiana sat in the middle of that same base for years and did nothing. Now, suddenly, they're a contender. Our two-deep on both sides are from all over. We have a decent base, with a decent number of instates, but we don't compare to FL, GA or LA, for various reasons. A lot of the names you hear on broadcasts every week aren't Alabama boys...

This is possible I guess. If CKD was "glad to put it to bed right now" he could have and should have done that weeks ago. I think he was aware of the stories before today. Maybe he already addressed the team about the stories weeks ago but if not I sure wouldn't want my players to be distracted by it while fighting for a playoff spot. I never believed he was leaving but it would have been better for him to reassure everyone much earlier.
