Haven’t watched it yet but been hearing it’s a good doc. Going to try to watch this weekend.

Watched it - very tough to watch for a whole lot of reasons.
We just watched it. Agreed but glad I watched it. I knew a lot of the information already & had previously cut most seafood out of my diet but it does further affirm that decision.

This is fine.

I know the guy, Bill Brown, mentioned in the article. He’s correct in what he said. The arsenic mcl is 10 ppb since 2003. OTOH PFAS is a big deal and I expect (hope) EPA will set an MCL soon.

Their water supply is Groundwater, and a fair amount of the aquifer recharge is from the north, in the general area of Fort Hood.

ETA. Here’s all their arsenic sampling

Trinity, AL is a western suburb of Decatur. There is a big PFOA lawsuit now against 3M for dumping PFOAs in far excess of their permit. As of the beginning of this month, it appeared they may have settled with Decatur and Morgan County...

Is the Thunderbird Drive-In still there :).

I worked at that 3M plant a couple of summers during college.

Daikin in Decatur also make fluorinated hydrocarbons (refrigerants).
Daikin is still there, but no one is making R-22 and HCFC-22 any more. That stopped with 1/1/'20. It still can be captured and recycled in order to keep old units running. Believe it or not, the largest consumers are freezer cases in supermarkets. I think the Thunderbird is under a subdivision. I didn't know you grew up around there. Here's what's left of it. Pull down until you can see "Old Trinity Road"...
