sorry to hear that. i really hate mcmansions.

the land trust folks always manned a couple of the aid stations and helped out a lot with the race, they are great folks.
Taking another look at the map, there's even more protected land. They don't show the Forever Wild land lying to the north of the mountain towards Chapman Mt and highway 72. Trees make a difference. Today, it was 80 up here and 93 in the valley...

Our general area is getting slammed by wildfires. The Bootleg and Cutoff fires are to our north. The Beckwourth Complex is to our south. Evacuations and destroyed homes are displacing people. The biggest problem here in my immediate area is the smoke and poor air quality. Thankfully we are getting a little relief with temperatures in the low 90’s instead of 100-105.

People just don't realize the smoke problem, even when you're not even near the fire. My daughter had it in Oakland and my SIL in Ventura had to have her house professionally cleaned before she could move back in...
