Oh that opening 1999 run back by Freddie Milons for a TD really made you think that the season was going to be awesome.......but just an awesome disappointment!
Not sure. Hoping it wasn’t off-field related but all speculation I guess right now. Would be awesome if we gave him a look as special teams coordinator.
It was 2000, but yeah. I was in the stands that day. Before that play was snapped, you could hear a clear and growing chant of "Freddie...Freddie...Freddie..." from the sizeable Alabama contingent. We all went nuts. One of our O-lineman was later quoted as having thought to himself, immediately after the punt return TD, "well, that was easy." Unfortunately, the only thing easy that season was Alabama.
I've still yet to be treated as poorly, as a visiting fan, as I was by UCLA fans that day.
This is giving me flashbacks... I was a Junior that year. What an awful, awful time.
