The Ohio University thing has been kind of weird and going on for several weeks. The University never announced that Smith was suspended or “on leave” or anything about an investigation. They just stated that assistant John Hauser was the interim head coach. Everyone was asking about Smith but the University remained quiet until the announcement today.

Several dweebs have decided to go with "the Ohio coach was white, the Michigan one was black," look at the difference in coverage.

Well - when Smith invades the home of his mistress and threatens to kill, it'll be the same thing.

On the Michigan boards, some of them are still absolutely convinced that CKD takes the Michigan job if Bama loses to OU tomorrow. There’s a lot of banter about Michigan waiting on tomorrow night’s result before moving forward in their search.

Maybe I’m just naive, but on two occasions this past week he’s pretty much straight-up said he’s staying put. I guess there’s enough precedent for coaches reversing course on statements like this (including the infamous statement from CNS at Miami), but I really believe CKD when he says he’s not going anywhere.

But if you actually listen to what he said, he's not saying DeBoer is going to Michigan. He believes DeBoer will turn down the blank check. He's getting taken out of context, but I listened to him all week, and he doesn't believe for a second that DeBoer will even entertain this. Getting a little sick of these click bait articles disrespecting what these people say by picking out one or two sentences and presenting them as the main point. Real journalism is dead.

Just sounds like a lot of nonsense to me that another program would be banking so much on a coach at Alabama. I mean, pressure or not, Alabama is the pinnacle of coaching jobs whether you are the head man, position coach or analyst...crimson colored glasses firmly adjusted lol.

Maybe MI is so high on DeBoer because they know he will only have to prepare the team for like 3-4 games a year in the BIG as opposed to basically every week in the SEC.

Just to clarify the mini rant was not directed at you, but the media.
But yeah, I agree it's very strange. For all talk that DeBoer is supposedly not a good fit for Alabama, I'm not sure how how would be a good fit for Michigan, either. His personality does not seem like that of a Michigan man, and neither does his philosophy. Not to take anything away from DeBoer because I do think he's one of the best in the game, but I think they'd be better served throwing all that money at Cignetti instead. He's a much better fit for Michigan than DeBoer, both in personality and philosophy.
