Are they gonna make him Head Coach in waiting, again? He’s been there before.
In Austin or having a stroke? He’s been there before.
I have never heard of a situation like this before where supposedly schools are waiting on the result of a game yet to be played to determine which direction their coaching search should go. Remember, some pundits said CKD was going to Penn State if he lost to Auburn. Now they say he's going to Michigan if he loses to Oklahoma. IF CKD though he only had 2 seasons to win a NC at Alabama I don't think he would have ever taken the job. Plenty of coaches get fired for losing to teams they should beat but Oklahoma is not exactly a cupcake. On the Michigan boards, some of them are still absolutely convinced that CKD takes the Michigan job if Bama loses to OU tomorrow. There’s a lot of banter about Michigan waiting on tomorrow night’s result before moving forward in their search.
Maybe I’m just naive, but on two occasions this past week he’s pretty much straight-up said he’s staying put. I guess there’s enough precedent for coaches reversing course on statements like this (including the infamous statement from CNS at Miami), but I really believe CKD when he says he’s not going anywhere.
I agree. I think the people pushing this narrative about the Michigan job are (wrongly) convinced that Alabama views CKD as an abject failure at this point and that we are ready to run him out of town. I think that’s the primary driver of the smoke around Michigan and Penn State.I have never heard of a situation like this before where supposedly schools are waiting on the result of a game yet to be played to determine which direction their coaching search should go. Pretty sure it's in his contract that he has to go along with their attempts to create controversy. He was singing a completely different tune on his own show.Even Mister Clean aka JP is saying that there is a possibility he bolts if Bama fans aren’t nice to him on First Take this evening ! So, they are all Spewing click bait.
There are twelve teams still playing.Srange that the Michigan coaching search seems to just be on hold right now.
No, I should have put it in blue........
Says he is not retiringDid Holtz retire? He did a great job.

He's a helluva coach and if DeBoer did leave I'd take him in heart beat. Hes tough, his teams are tough and you could guarantee our OL would be able to block.Maybe Whittingham really did step down because of the private equity deal... They just had a pretty good season, so these are some odd things to say
