Nope. Too much potential for saliva to spewed when chests compress against one another therefore resulting in unwanted exchange of bodily fluids.
Do people not wipe their mouths with the backs of their hands? Rest their chins on their fists? Rub their knuckles on bathroom floors?

The militarization of America continues.

For the first 192 years of our republic, commanders in chief did not salute military personnel.

Soldiers were supposed to salute their president; the president was not supposed to salute the soldiers. No modern president, not even old General Eisenhower, had saluted military personnel. It might even be, well, sort of, improper. Reagan seemed disappointed at this news. Kline suggested he talk to the commandant of the United States Marine Corps and get his advice, and the commandant’s advice ran something like this: You’re the ...... president. You can salute whoever you .... well please. So Ronald Reagan continued saluting his soldiers, and he encouraged his own vice president and successor, George H.W. Bush, to do the same. And every president since has followed.

"We used to take pride in civilian leadership of the military under the Constitution, a principle that George Washington embraced when he avoided military symbols at Mount Vernon. We are not led -- or were not in the past -- by caudillos," Willis continued. - See more at: http://www.texasgopvote.com/militar...itary-hand-salute-002816#sthash.YHzc37EB.dpuf

Okay, but President John Adams wore a sword in public during the Quasi-war with France. That was both (a) more military than rendering a hand salute and (b) fairly early in the history of the Republic.
Can you imagine how goofy it would look (or the media reaction) if BHO or GWB wore a sword in public?

I on't think we have to worry about Obama looking like Qadhafi or anything. Unless he accomplishes gun confiscation. Then he may become the tinhorn dictator he's always dreamt of. Costume would be optional.

Not a good salute. His thumb is sticking out. Hand is turned the wrong way. Course he is a furriner! Is Libya close to Kenya?

I find your posts hilarious VJ:biggrin2:

Seebell - I am glad you are so easily amused. my Friend. With Obama, the humor takes care of itself. :)

They don't really learn to salute in the Muslim world, do they?

He (Qadhafi) was just trying to act like a Westerner. I think he liked our whiskey, and he had a Big Time crush on Condoleeza Rice.

Qadaffi/Kadafi/Kadaffi - Whatever the flavor of the day is, in spelling his name. Total idol of mine. From the snazzy outfits he wore with matching head wrap, to his facial hair, and reconstructive surgery. Is there any doubt why he was a such a lady's man? Well, other than kidnapping them and forcing his will upon them. Stud.

I'd be cool with him not saluting. I'd be more cool with the dvldogs not being there to salute him in the first place. They should have more important things to do with their time like shining their shoes or cleaning their rifle.
