:BigA:

Wasn't Gameday in Tuscaloosa for Prothro's last game when we rolled Florida out of the stadium?

I remember that being the perfect day, Prothro's injury aside*. I really liked that Bama team at full strength against anybody in the country, USC, Florida, LSU, Ohio State, whoever.

*of course, that ultimately pretty much overshadowed anything else that day--Prothro was awesome to watch

Na, they didn't come until the LSU game when we were 9-0 (and after that game, 9-1).

On Fowlers blog on ESPN he mentioned they might be going to Madison this weekend for the Wisconsin - Iowa game. BUT that was before Iowa lost to Iowa State, so theres no telling.

#12 South Carolina at #2 LSU: This should be Gameday, especially since LSU-Va. Tech didn't get it. We'll have Gameday in November
Umm I think you were stuck under a rock two weeks ago. Gameday was in Baton Rouge for the LSU-Va Tech game.

eh.

I wouldn't give two Tubbervilles if they ever came back. :aiwebs_018:
I couldn't agree more! I would rather they never come back. I heard that Ohio State basically banned them from coming back, and that South Carolina is considering the same due to the recent Spurrier-Corso semi-feud.

Personally I hope Gameday Comes to T-Town.

I think Gameday will bring more visitors from Georgia, more intensity, and that will make the win that much more satisfying. The more we can prove ourselves on the main stage the more we will be there in the future. The game this weekend is pivitol to both programs entire season.

Alabama's never had a problem getting on the main stage. We were able to get there even in down years.

Re: College Gameday???

I do hope Gameday comes. No matter what you think of the WWL's coverage (which has undoubtedly gone downhill over the past several years), it is the best and widest exposure available.

I don't want to pile onto ESPN (plenty of blogs and message board comments do that well enough), but one minor gripe about last Saturday's broadcast: Mike Patrick.

• Patrick seems to think that every Bama RB is named "Grant." Even if that player wears a 10 or 38 on his jersey.

• Patrick's clearly scripted monologue during the game about how no Bama fans haven't accepted any coach since Bear Bryant and how "even [Gene Stallings' record] wasn't good enough for them" really got under my skin. I don't attribute those remarks to bias, but I do attribute them to laziness in his research.

Patrick was an excellent NFL play-by-play guy, but as a college announcer he strikes me as ... uninterested. Hey ESPN: put Patrick back where he wants to be, and bring back Ron Franklin as your lead announcer!
