This was sent in an A-Club email and I thought is was good to hear (not how good Bama is, but how respectful the team is)
The attachment is from Clay Whitehurst. A buddy of his is good friends with the head ref from the Bama vs. Mich State game. In the attachment are some sound bites from the Ref about his thoughts on the Crimson Tide
From the big 12 ref at the game
* He is a good friend and was assigned the Alabama
game..the first time he had the Tide. Some soundbites after:
"That was by far the best football team I saw on the field
this year...frankly maybe the best I have seen in 15 years of ref'ing"...
"I have never seen this much talent on a team on both sides
of the football"
"57" is a beast!
He said one of our players..I think maybe Upshaw ,said he
was being held on every play...the Ref said "son..you've been in the
backfield more than the tailback..if he is holding...he's not doing it very
well is he?!
He also said he had never seen a team have First and Goal
and then have to punt...and he knew it was over after about 4 minutes...
He said our players were by far THE most polite team and
showed the most class of any team he had ref'd as well. He had never heard
so many yessirs and nosirs...was blown away and said it was an honor of a
lifetime to be on the field with the Crimson Tide.
Said #8 was a Greek God!
Also when AJ MAC threw the out..the ref said that is a
pick...could not beleive he could throw it hash to hash like that...after
the completion..he said to AJ..son...they tell me if you can make THAT
throw...you might end up being a pretty good qb in this league...AJ
replied.."Thank you sir...I am just trying to get better every day!"
