Lamar, at the moment, is the runaway Heisman winner in his second year. Take a look at how Jalen's stats in his freshman year compare to Jackson's from last year.

We can argue Louisville's opponents or how good of a team Louisville really is, but those stats are pretty crazy when compared to each other.

Really hadn't looked at it this closely but I've kinda had that feeling the last few weeks. Jackson didn't look great as a passer last year. If Hurts has a similar off-season progression then good lord we're gonna be good on offense for the next few years.

If that were to be the case what would be the downside?

Would it make it more difficult for Bama to attract the number of high quality / 5* RB recruits they have such a track record with, as RB touches and reliance on will be greatly down if we fully utilise a duel threat quater back?

I don't think tailback carries are going to be an issue. We've maintained good balance this year (with regard to rush touches)...I imagine that the development will be a greater capacity at burning teams with the pass. We could average 50ppg next year if that development happens.

We will still be a pro-style offense that needs a successful RB attack for it to work. I would argue that the successful carries by Bo and Harris opened the door for us to have the successful runs from Jalen. His skillset is not the feature of what he offers, it is however an added bonus. Its a moot point but if DH or Bo ended up being even more successful in the run than they were, I'm sure we would have leaned on them more.

I personally don't think so. It actually may make playing at Bama even more attractive to running backs because we're emphasizing the run more. What it could affect is recruiting really great wide receivers who want to play in a true pro style offense. But then again, kids(Young men) want to be a part of a championship, so they may be Bama bound regardless.

How does Sark do with developing QBs? Do we think he takes over the job if Kiffin leaves...
I may be completely wrong, but I truly don't think he'll leave Bama until Nick Saban retires and he, at least, has the opportunity to apply for the job.
I don't know his mind, at all, but I speculate that he's thinking if we win a couple more national titles with him serving as OC, that he'd have a shot to be our head coach. It wouldn't upset me at all if that was the case.
But if he he is indeed gone for whatever reason, I have no idea about Sark's ability to develop QB's.

Was a genuine question, I have no real appreciation of what makes certain schools attractive to certain recruits.

Thanks.

I doubt it. Bama will always be a top place for a RB to go to. I think more so maybe knowing it gives them even more of a good chance of getting in and succeeding at the NFL level due to taking less hits maybe.

I agree. If he was the senior member of the staff in 5+ years, I would thing he would be at least a top choice when the time comes.

Wasn't something written around the first of the season that he was not going to take a head coaching job just for the sake of being a head coach again?

He may not leave at the end of the year....but nothing Coach Saban does is by accident. Sark is close to the program for a reason....either as someone to succeed Kiffin....or someone to leave with him. But either way CLK is on a 3-15 month plan....I'm guessing on the '3'
