Thank you for posting this. Just looking at the 2018 schedule and how we looked, a lot of parallels are apparent: We blasted Louisville, a good comparison to what Duke is this year. Duke may even be a hair better. Blasted them. Arkansas State, who we killed, is equal to NM State this year. Ole Miss made it look a little closer this year, but it wasn't close. Texas A&M 2018 is almost exactly equal to Texas A&M 2019, even the score was nearly the same. Louisiana is on par to what Southern Miss is this year, and So Miss might be a hair better than UL last season. Missouri and South Carolina are exactly the same teams, 2018 to 2019. Arkansas is terrible again this year, not improved at all over last year, and we nearly hung 70, and could have hung 100.
So far, the difference is trash time. We just don't play good football in the 4th quarter, mainly because we haven't had to.
For the 2nd half of last year, Tennessee was a doormat. Similar story this year. Miss State came in beating their chests, and they were competitive last year, we blanked them. It will be far worse this year. Citadel and Western Carolina will be a similar result. The key differences are the big games: Auburn looks a tad better on defense, and pretty much on par with last year on offense. But.....LSU.....Last year, Burrow looked helpless while we shut them out, in Red Stick. I don't see a shut out this year. I also don't see how a Heisman consideration player for another team EVER comes into Tuscaloosa and has the night of his life. Fournette comes to mind, recently. I believe the Tide can get to 12-0, think we will see UGA again, and again, we will have to play 4 tough quarters. After that, who knows.
