ACC:
If Virginia and SMU win their games this weekend.....both finish 7-1 and secure an ACCCG matchup.

Big 12:
If Texas Tech and BYU win their games, they will play each other again.

Big 10:
Indiana is in, they'll beat Purdue
If Michigan beats Ohio State....Oregon will play Indiana.
If Ohio State beat Michigan....Ohio State will play Indiana.

SEC:
If ATM and Bama win....its ATM vs Bama
If we lose and ATM wins.....its Georgia vs ATM
If both ATM and Bama lose.....its Georgia vs Ole Miss
If ATM loses and Bama wins.....its Georgia vs Bama

American:
Looks like it will be North Texas vs Tulane unless one of them has a big upset loss.

CUSA:
If Kennesaw State beats Liberty they are in.
Winner of Jacksonville State vs WKU is in.

MAC:
Its down to WMU / Miami OH / CMU and Toledo. That's as far as I'm going on that one.

MWC:
Winner of San Diego State vs New Mexico appears in.
Boise State in if they beat Utah State

SBC:
James Madison is in
Winner of Troy vs Southern Miss is in

Good grief the CUSA and Sun Belt are basically Division 1-AA teams. At least the MWC and American are mostly made up of teams with a long history of being in the same division with the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, and Notre Dame. Get rid of the group of 5 or 4 or whatever it is now.

But I digress the thread. I tell ya, I am just on pins and needles anticipating that ACC championship game between Virginia and SMU. In all honesty, seriously, what among that list other than the SEC championship holds any sort of must see tv value? Maybe the Big Ten. Nothing else, IMO.

I guess there are certain outcomes we would prefer in the bigger matchups.

It would be better for TTU to beat BYU and maybe that puts BYU out or on the Bubble.

Whoever loses the ACC CG is out so I guess it’s irrelevant.

Michigan could be a problem at 10-2 with a win over tOSU so it would be better for Mich to lose and be out at 9-3.

Nothing will keep tOSU, Oregon, or IU out at this point so it doesn’t matter what happens with those 3.

The ACC championship game looks like it will lose some network a lot of money.

Virginia and SMU decide who makes the playoff....and Miami makes it.

Big 10 - Ohio State / Indiana / Oregon
SEC - Texas A&M / Georgia / Ole Miss / Oklahoma / Bama
Big 12 - Texas Tech / BYU
ACC - ACCCG winner / Miami
Notre Dame
Group of 5

Big 10 will have 3. If Michigan beats Ohio State.....we probably have a problem. They could sneak in and give them 4.

Big 12 probably will have just Texas Tech once they beat BYU again. If BYU wins the BIG12CG, then we got a problem.

ACC should get just 1, but if they rank Miami high enough, who knows.

SEC will have a guaranteed 4. ATM / Georgia / Ole Miss are in. Oklahoma is probably in. Bama....we've put ourselves in a precarious position if we lose the SECCG.

Notre Dame is in.

Group of 5 is in.

Big Ten - 3 or 4
Big 12 - 1 or 2
ACC - 1 or 2
SEC - 4 or 5
Notre Dame
Group of 5

I would add the Aggies to that list, although that stupid predictor runs some scenarios with 2 of the G5 and Miami in and Aggies out. Even with a loss to the Horns and missing the SEC CG I don’t see an 11-1 SEC team left out.

Could someone please tell me how many teams in the lists above have played top 25 ranked teams on their 2025 schedule? I mean, what a joke. The big 2 is going to have 3 teams in the playoff and their flagship program has played, what, 1 ranked team in 2025? SEC needs to abstain from the playoff as it exists and just do our own tournament.

ACC:
Virginia vs Arkansas -7 - SMU vs Arkansas +7

Big 12:
Texas Tech vs Arkansas +9 - BYU vs Arkansas +3

American:
North Texas vs Arkansas -13 - Tulane vs Arkansas -8

CUSA:
Kennesaw State vs Arkansas -24
Jacksonville State vs Arkansas -21 - WKU vs Arkansas -19

MAC:
WMU / Miami OH / CMU and Toledo vs Arkansas -25

MWC:
San Diego State / New Mexico vs Arkansas -17
Boise State vs Arkansas -15

SBC:
James Madison vs Arkansas -24
Troy or Southern Miss vs Arkansas -21

Joke man, JOKE!

Conference games used to be at least mildly interesting before the 12 team playoff because it could impact who the top 4 would be and therefore the NC picture. That is pretty much our the window now, so they are about as interesting as basketball conference championship games.
