Looks like major shakups are coming to conference play based upon a decision today by the NCAA. Conferences no longer have to select division winners for the conference championship but instead can select the two best teams. The PAC-12 wasted no time.

After the NCAA Division I Council tossed out requirements that dictate how football conferences can determine a champion, the Pac-12 announced Wednesday that it was scrapping its divisional format for the coming season.

There was speculation that the SEC would drop
divisional play once Texas and Oklahoma joined. Each team would have three “traditional” opponents and the others would rotate onto the schedule as home and home. And the league would adopt a nine game conference schedule.

This wasn't just a PC12 ruling. It was an NCAA ruling and they realized that no one wants to see Ohio State blow out Iowa.

Yes but the PAC 12 is the ones who have been pushing it for the longest. It is weird that they implement it the second that it gets approved and are doing it when USC has the most optimism in 5-6 years but yet the hardest schedule that they have had in years

When Texas and Oklahoma join the conference I would not be shocked if the sec did away with divisions. So teams will face each other more often.

Aside from 3-5 games the B1G championship has been pretty boring.

MSU vs Ohio St
Iowa vs MSU

I think the two best conference championship series by far are the SEC and Big XII
