Congrats to Lady Tide and Coach Curry

Huge win over the Lady Vols last night. Winning 6 of the last nine over UT is a great accomplishment. With what Curry inherited, she has done a great job in making ALA competitive AND getting some nice upset wins over the years.

Curry has done a good job at Bama. She’s a good coach who was highly successful at Purdue. Had their been a tournament in 2020 they wouldve made it, and made it to the second round last year. Wins like these and tournament appearances were unthinkable not all that long ago for Bama women’s basketball.

Beating UT in anything is always good, but their WBB program isn't anywhere near where it was when Pat Summitt ran the show. A good friend of mine's sister played for some very good Bama teams under Rick Moody in the mid-90's and we watched them get handled pretty easily by UT back then.

That said, it is good to see our program steadily improving and notching some very good wins again.

Yep, the 90s were the best our women's program has ever been but there was always little hope that we could beat Tennessee.

I seem to remember reading an article a number of years ago about a UA WBB search that mentioned a then-unproven Dawn Staley as a possible candidate. How's that for a what-if?

Although we are WNIT bound, nice to see us beat a ranked opponent last night in the SECT. We are probably 2-3 more pieces away from being a regular NCAA participant. We have a winning culture after losing it for many years after Coach Rick Moody.
I know its a few years away, but have to believe the new arena will be a huge recruiting advantage.
