Hey the real skill positions on the field are the interior linemen and those guys did another masterful job Saturday congrats to Coach Pendry's troops and the job they do week in and week out. I big high five to William Valachos who has done a masterful job at center.

I have to get in on some of this love. So nice to have the line be a strength again. They're playing great and I appreciate them all.

I find myself watching the line and sometimes missing the play. :)
Ditto. In my case, it's magnified because my son played OTackle in HS...:)
2 quick OLine stories:
1. mrs. exiled & I were @ a game in Oxford; our son was in the student section. Midway thru the 2nd, Dexter Mc reels off a nice long run. I get this text from exiled, jr. "Dad, did you see that awesome X-block on the rt. side of the line?" Made me very proud...:D
2. A friend played O Line @ the Citadel some years back. This summer, he commented (facebook) how much he missed the game. One of his O Line buddies suggested he coach kids. He said no, because he only knows the O Line; "apparently there are these other positions called 'receiver' & 'running back'...who knew?" I loved his reply.

Love the big guys up front, and ours are playing very well.

Whew, I'm glad I clicked on this thread and found out what it was really all about. At first, I thought this was an announcement about the barn's homecoming court.

And Vlachos among others are playing pretty banged up already. Real tough guys - fun to see Vlachos showin' off that cut on the bridge of his nose he got during Fall Practice [I think c/o Donta'].

Nacho is one of my favorites, he owned Brandon Spikes in the 2009 SECCG.

I've been so happy with our OL's performance. Vlachos, as the anchorman, is so undersized it's hard to believe he's as effective as he is, but he sure does play like he has a grudge on his shoulders....and I like that from a center!

To all the linemen: Well done! Keep making those holes and protecting that QB.

You don't have to be a giant to play Center. You just have to be smart enough to give out the line calls, strong enough to handle a 300 lb+ nose tackle, and be able to put the ball into a QB's hands on a regular basis. I think he uses his size, or lack of, to get better leverage. There's an old football saying "low man wins" and he is already pretty low.

He's smart and plays a lot bigger than he is!

The line has done an outstanding job this year. They will have their work cut out for them this week. If they can handle Florida's front seven, they should be able to handle anyone.
