From Neal Boortz's "Nealz Nuze" today:

CONGRESSWOMAN CORRINE BROWN HAS RACIST MELTDOWN

Now before you read this, think back to when Trent Lott was fired as Senate Majority leader and nearly run out of town for saying the country would have been better off with Strom Thurmond as president. Earlier this week Democratic Representative Corrine Brown of Florida attended a briefing on the situation in Haiti with Assistant Secretary of State Roger Noriega, a Mexican-American. Why does that matter? More on that in a moment.

At this meeting were about 30 people, and right across the table from Noriega, Brown launched into a diatribe about how the Bush administration's policy toward Haiti was racist and she called the president's representatives "a bunch of white men." Noriega shot back that he would pass along her comments to Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice, both high-level African-Americans in the Bush administration. Noriega also pointed out a member of delegation, Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart, who was born in Cuba. It was then that Corrine Brown said "you all look alike to me." Imagine if a Republican had said that. The media would be demanding they be fired. Corrine Brown, a liberal Democrat, will get a free pass.

She did apologize, saying she did not mean to offend, then rambled on about how the Bush administration has no right to tell another nation that their elections were not fair when President Bush was selected by the Supreme Court.

So really, it comes down to Bush-hating. At least we know where she's coming from.

Still no response from our left leaning group? Come on y'all, she's one of yours.

Are you going to excuse her behavior because she's a liberal, female, minority?

Egad.

Of course they are.

Have you seen her "apology?"

http://www.house.gov/corrinebrown/press108/pr040301.htm

I wanted to email her, but of course I couldn't find an address anywhere; I tried sending to corrine.brown@mail.house.gov, but it doesn't work. Here's the text of what I wrote (maybe I'll fax it to her).

Dear Ms. Brown:

Your remarks to Assistant Secretary of State Roger Noriega last week were despicable. You should be ashamed of yourself. You are lucky that the mainstream media has not made a bigger fuss over this (like they did over Trent Lott a few years ago). If you can't see that your words were blatantly racist and hate-filled, then I don't think you are qualified to serve as a Congressional representative. At any rate, your "apology" is transparent and worthless. Anyone with half a brain could understand what you meant by that remark, and it is insulting to our intelligence for you to try to play it off as another unfounded stab at the Bush administration.

You should count yourself fortunate if you are reelected this fall. Surely the good people of Florida can find someone to run against you; I hope they do. I'm glad you're not representing me. Your brand of hatred is bad for our country and reflects poorly on your constituents for having voted for you.

Think twice before you speak next time, and if you can't say something nice, don't say it at all. If you simply must make an attack on someone, you should at least have the guts to say such things to their face. (Remember, you're the one who tried to spin it as though it was directed at the current administration.)

Sincerely,
