Cotton Bowl has suspended ticket sales...

Most of us remember Bowl games without corporate sponsors names on them. I even remember the Bluebonnett Bowl. I also remember January 1st being "bowl game" day, not January 2nd. Thank you Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. What was it, 1986? Football was meant to be played on Saturday, Sunday afternoons, and Monday night...This monday 10 am start only shows how low the Cotton Bowl has sunk.

Serves 'em right...Hey, at least Texas Technolgical Institute is excited about it...shows how the average age and desperation of those fans...

"New Year's Day Bowls" have always been played on Monday, January 2nd when New Year's Day fell on Sunday. At least until the advent of the BCS. However, I'm not too crazy about the 10 AM kickoff.

WOW! Please tell me that is a poor attempt at humor. FWIW--the Cotton Bowl is the 2nd pick for the Big 12. So unless we are going to a BCS, the Cotton is the next best thing.

BTW, are you an aggie? When you try to put down a school, you might want to check your spelling. It’s “Technological” not, “Technolgical”. ;)

That's not a fair shake on Tech. I'm telling you, if they get up 14-17 points in the first it'll be 3 in a row, as in losses. When ML got there they weren't a *powerhouse.* But, since he's been there I don't know if there is a better offensive game plan/scheme in the NCAA.

I am confused for sure now!

Thomas Murphy, the Bama beat writer for the Mobile Register recently commented in an article, prior to Florida's defeat of FSU ,that in regard to USC being picked over Bama to go to a higher ranked bowl, could not happen because the SEC contract with the Bowls stipulates placement of teams based on conference records. If that is so, Bama should be assigned a bowl in order of: SECC game winner, loser and AU. What is correct ?

Correct

That would be so messed up USC be picked over bama??? What? That is not right. If I am correct we beat USC & Florida Gators. We have right to 3rd Sec.
If LSU wins they No.1 Auburn 2. Alabam 3. So what Florida Gators beat Florida State there not SEC. That would be BS!

And their defense continues to come around. This would be no easy win. In fact, I'd guess Tech would be favored.

Bowls have been been moved from Sundays for many years. I don't think any majors have ever been played on Sundays. Cotton Bowl has never played on a Sunday that I could find.

Correct...

As far as I remember, Sunday Jan 1 games have been moved to Monday. Tough, however, for those who don't have Monday off...

Sorry I forgot to type an "O". I can see your agitation towards forgetting an "O" because that represents how many Big 12 title games TTU has won. You are WAAAAY too attached to "O" is seems.

I could careless if the Cotton Bowl is the second pick tie-in or not...it's a crappy game...at a crappy time...in a crappy stadium...run by crappy people.

It's about as fair a statement as...

I think it's funny that the complaint of a Jan. 2 game keeps coming up. It again shows the age of the respondants.

Teams Go To Bowls Based On Record!

I think the SEC should demand that we get the best bowls for the teams based on the records and not on any other emotional reason!

I don't care if we have to play in a run-down stadium, in the cold or play Tx Tech, it's the players who earned the darned right to go and I think we should give them the best game, for the most money and the best opponent available according to the dictates of the bowl committees!

Now, to have coaches play footsies with the Bowl Committees to garner a right to go there instead of the SEC, I think is a violation of the rules and the Coach (LSU) should be censored for doing it! He should be punished for his wrong-doing to his players as to the rest of the SEC coaches too!

I have never heard of a coach from a university making a pact with a bowl committee to go to a bowl before.........anyone else here older than me, have you???

Now, go ahead and call me stupid; but I think in the past the head coach would leave it up to the Seniors to make a decision if a decision was necessary was an invite was given........hey, they've been through Hades for the last few years and I don't think it would hurt to have them select the Bowl!

RTR, beat whoever, where-ever! :)
