I personally think Venables has more to do with Clemson's success than Dabo, and Dabo is just incredibly lucky he has a really good DC who (for some reason) doesn't seem to want to be a head coach.
Dabo was 29-19 at Clemson before Venables got there. Since Venables has gotten to Clemson, they've went 115-17.
We saw how Clemson was in 2017 when they didn't have a 1st-round QB. They scraped out a 12-1 record before bowl season almost solely due to their defense. Then when they played Bama in the Sugar Bowl, they could barely gain a yard against y'all.
Their defense has had some bad luck with injuries this season, yet their defense is the only reason they have any wins and have kept all of their losses close.
I'm not trying to be that guy who acts like Brent Venables is the greatest thing ever, but I still think he deserves more of the credit for Clemson's success than Dabo.
