I figured this topic was more appropriate on the NS Board

''It's great to be a part of history with Danica being on the pole,'' said Gordon, who joked that at least he was the fastest guy. ''I think we all know how popular she is, what this will do for our sport. Congratulations to her. Proud to be on there with her.''
Perhaps it's my 13 year old teenage-boy mind this morning -- but this classic :)

Everybody is making a big deal about this. Like it's really the first time a female is on a pole for a NASCAR event.

She may be on the pole but it wont last long. Way I figure it is by the end of the first lap some of them boys will be bump drafting her from the rear and this will make her pull out and drift all the way to the back and stay safe and avoid the big one. She just wants to finish this time so you will probably just take it real slow in the back of the field. That way she can come in with a decent finish.

I believe she got wrecked once last year and when the offending driver rode back around she threw her lime green helmet at his car. I always enjoy watching that but from a girl it's great. :)

I was was in the infield at the north turn at Talladega 1978 and saw Janet Guthrie try and pass outside. And that was the end of her race.

OK, so she managed to go fast on the track without other cars out there. This gal has the good looks that gets all the attention. I have no problem with her being successful, but just wait and see how she does with all the bumping and fender scraping when the race gets underway. I predict she has a better chance of not finishing the race than finishing in the top ten. Call me skeptical. After she wins two or three Sprint Cup Races, I will start believing she has the right stuff.

Why do I feel like I need a cigarette after reading this?
