Deandre McDaniel

Is a Clemson soft verbal who is showing more interest in Alabama. He was also a teamate of Roy Upchurch at Godby. Did we have room for him as a CB with the commitments we already have? Is this guy seriously having doubts about Clemson or is he just wanting to look around. He was seriously considering UA at one time before his early commitment to the Taters. Anyone know anything, his highlight reel looks pretty impressive on offense, I don't know how well that correlates to defense, but everyone is recruiting him as a DB.
 
McDaniel is a safety all the way. UF did, however, offer him a shot at WR. I would say his verbal is soft, but steady. The only real player I see is possibly FSU.
 
I don't know much about the kid, but the clips of him on offense shows some promise. I didn't think too much of his tackling skills on defense but he has good ball awareness. Just wondering if we had a chance and if he is planning a visit here.

he might just b/c of Roy, but I still think he's a longshot.
 
Defensive Backs!!!

Hey mods I was wondering about our chances with these guys, if you can give me an analysis of each one that can help thanks.

1. Ryan Hill
2. Marcus Udell
3. Justin Woodard
4. Deandre Mcdaniel
 
1. Ryan Hill- one of the top corners in the nation....I doubt he leaves the state of FL, though....still a chance if he does leave and officials here. 20%
2. Marcus Udell- good corner who is good friends with Upchurch (same HS). Would be a solid pickup. 20%
3. Justin Woodall- interested, but he wants to play safety and if he came to Bama I think he'd get moved to LB. 20%
4. DeAndre McDaniel- interested b/c of Upchurch (same HS) but I don't think he'll decommit from Clemson unless it's to FSU. 10%

I'm adding #5 and #6
5. Ochuko Jenije.....fastest of the bunch. Cover corner and PR/KR guy. If we want his commitment, we'll take him. 50%
6. Jake Jones- fast and good size. Could play corner or safety. Us and LSU. 51%.
 
update on McDaniel....

he's down to Clemson or Bama, though he remains committed.....waiting on staff to call back to set up visit. Hmm....could be interesting. Don't know if the staff wants him at WR or safety.

I would love to see him as a WR. He looks pretty elusive in his clips.

Although he committed to Clemson early in the recruiting season, I have a huntch that Mr. McDaniel will swith his commitment to the Tide. He didn't have the best senior season (compared to last year), but the kid has the potential to be an impact player at the next level. It also helps having Upchurch (ex team mate) on our side as well.

Where did you get that "huntch?" ;) Care to expound?

All signs point to Roy Upchurch. Roy has been recruiting this kid ever since he stepped on the Alabama campus. Roy has said in the past that he considers McDaniel one of his friends but wants him to make the decision on his own. I just think that by him wanting to officially visit the campus puts Bama in good position to sign him.

Thanks for the info. I agree the official visit can only do some good. I have heard that about Upchurch and McDaniel being close. I was just wondering if there was something recently said by McDaniel that I missed or if you had heard some insider scoop.
