DeBoer gets his first transfer ... and it's a QB. Austin Mack

Probably not the best thread to state this:

CKD's record shows that he is a winner. Seems to be of the same mindset as Bryant and Saban in that regard.

Let's give him the benefit of the doubt in what he is doing. Remember, he said that Coach Saban would be "consulted" on a daily basis as far as learning. Man, what a great resource!

Let's support the new coach as he is trying his best (great background/results on this so far) to continue the Alabama Legacy!

Mack is for the most part plug and play, which tells me DeBoers isn't going to wait around for others to get up to speed learning a new system.
Yeah I heard what Brock Huard said about him being basically the 2nd string QB, got most of the 2nd team reps after their 2nd team QB got injured. Sounds like he will mix up the competition at QB this spring.

He is going to know the system but he skipped his senior year and has only 1 year of D1 Power 5 football practice under his belt so he is young. He did not play his freshman year so going to be tough to beat out Milroe and/or Simpson.

You guys are already throwing DeBoer under the bus and he hasn't been there a week. Shame on you all.

Get behind your head coach or stop pretending that you support Alabama instead of you own egos.

I can see Deboer favoring Mack because he has been in the system but just disrespecting Sayin is a bit of a stretch that is intended to make him look bad by people who wanted another guy.

Just because the continued roll of bad transfer news of losing all of our top talent at almost every position group has annoyed me, this is how I’m feeling about this transfer…

😉

I would recommend watching Mack’s HS stuff.

I felt better after I did because he looks pretty good.

He does have a bit of a baby giraffe thing going with off balance throws but even still there are a lot of impressive throws he’s making.

I think the QB1 battle will now be between Ty and Mack and no matter which wins we’ll be in good shape at QB.

Mack wants to be here and I’m glad about it.

We are taking a beating in the Portal but once it opens up for us in the Spring we will find a lot of guys to bring in and fill these other spots.

We aren’t the only school with 4 and 5 star recruits that for whatever reason want a change of scenery.

I mean hey we might even get 3-4 portal additions from Highly rated Wash players this weekend.

There was a number 8 QB in the nation number 1 among pro passers that flamed out in his first start and gave way to the number 108 QB rated QB who became one of the most loved QB in Alabama lore. The star system in the recruiting services are not always correct and many times become bragging points for fans in the off season.

How did the two QB end up rating number 108 ended up with a national title ring and today has a Super Bowl Ring…the hot shot five star flamed out. The two QBs were Blake Barnett and Jalen Hurts good ole number 8 and number 108 ranked QBs…

True. Then there is Bryce…like Sayin top ranked HS qb also , from California. He worked out quite well. So I’m not quite ready to celebrate trading Mack for Sayin.

That said, no choice but to move on and hope for the best.

Hurts does not have a Super Bowl ring.

If that is the case, Bama doesn’t want anyone that doesn’t want Bama. If the heart is not there, he’s just another mercenary.
Yup!
