So one guy is trying to oppose a tyrant and gets jailed, while the other is a criminal grifter who led a failed coup attempt. Even if Trump was not an insurrectionist and the election was stolen, the comparison does not apply. One guy rapes women and lies on his finances to position himself favorably to banks, while the other gets poisoned by his political rival.

I wonder if Newt ever wanted to lock up Hillary up or the January 6 committee?

This is what republicans like Newt and Stefanik and all the rest of the MAGA crowd has become - lying sniveling enemies of freedom and of the Constitution.

Well, part of the blame lies squarely with that segment of voters who refuse to vote for Biden or Trump. Not voting for either is a vote for Trump. If Biden wins, he’s only got four more years - it’s not like he’s done nothing the last 3 1/2 years (mention border at your own risk - Congress passes immigration laws).
Those who vote for neither, if they vote down ballot, I’d wager with anyone those votes break Republican - there’s part of your problem. They will still vote for the Jordan’s and Johnson’s, even if the stench of Trump is too much for them to bear. Like there’s a difference.
