OK, I'm gonna go against grain and give a GOP senator an Attaboy:

Good on Hawley for calling out Allstate (and other insurers) for their fraudulent practices.

Now, Sen. Hawley, what are you going to DO about it? You noted documented instances of fraud going back at least as far back as 1995. What do we do to better protect homeowners desperate to protect what for many is their biggest single investment?

Loss of benefits previously entitled to is effectively a tax increase AND a loss of needed services to the poor. It's a double whammy. The rich get the tax cut for services they will never need. Sounds real fair. But where is the Democratic Party to make this rational argument?

People with assets have been estate planning for 30-40 years to make themselves eligible for Medicaid in the event nursing home care is needed. The group committing the fraud, waste, and abuse is not the demographic they want you to think it is...

Louisiana lawmakers push ‘chemtrail’ ban legislation through the House

A bill that would ban so-called “chemtrails” in Louisiana advanced out of the state House of Representatives on May 29, despite scientific consensus that aircraft exhaust does not modify weather.

State Rep. Kimberly Landry Coates (R-Ponchatoula) defended SB46 on the House floor, saying she is concerned about aircraft leaving white streaks across the sky, which she claims are creating clouds and affecting weather patterns.

“This bill is to prevent any chemicals above us in the air, specifically to modify the weather,” Coates said.

The Environmental Protection Agency states that the white streaks seen in the sky are known as contrails. They are formed when hot aircraft exhaust meets cold atmospheric conditions, much like visible breath forms on a cold day, officials say.

But Coates and several other lawmakers refer to the lines as “chemtrails,” which she claims are made of nanochemicals that alter weather patterns.

I had no idea this was even a thing until 2020. Flatearthers and space deniers are big believers in this. During 2020 and getting furloughed from work I got bored and watched YouTube videos of the lunatics that believe in this garbage. It was funny at first until you hear kids in the background and realize these people breed and are teaching a new generation this insanity. For us normal people these are called contrails or condensation trails.

You’ll change your tune when you realize the pilots are lizard people.

ah yes the lizard people. for those that don't think chemtrails, space is fake, or flatearth is crazy enough. My personal favorite lizard people theory is that Dave Chappelle was replaced and also Sarah Silverman. Not sure why the lizard people would want to be stand-up comedians and how on Earth that would lead to taking over the world, but those are just minor details.

I don't trust Hawley's sudden sense of a conscience.

I'm still waiting to see what he does when the cuts in Medicad(which he vehemently "opposed" when the House bill passsed) are voted in in the Senate. I'd bet good money that he caves.

He switches with blinding speed. I'll never forget his fist salute to the rioter-to-be, only to perform and impressive sprint out of the building when they really showed up at the capitol. He really has length of stride...

And Missouri voters re-elected their brave, brave, brave Sir Hawley in 2023. :D

Same.

I had never heard of this notion until the pandemic. I decided maybe I was just going a little crazy because of work.

And with my family being in Missouri (Dad's never mentioned Hawley fwiw) - they eat this stuff up.

This whole performative tough guy nonsense, I'm finding myself rooting for someone to just plain come up and beat the Hell on camera out of a few of these posers, starting with the biggest sissy of all, Cheeto Jeezus.

I would usually consider that video of Hawley during the 1/6 hearings in bad taste - except for that salute.

Stephen Miller hits the nail on the head – Republicans are afraid to finally get a win, because losing is the only thing that they’ve known, for decades.

To state the obvious, Miller way oversells Trump in this dialogue, but his criticism of the GOP is spot on. Congressional Reps are weak, but they are also corrupt as hell. Miller should have pointed that out, too.

Bank account records show Senator Lindsey Graham is laundering money from the Ukraine war back into his personal bank accounts

CIA Officer says it’s “significant amounts of money” being laundered back to Senator Lindsey Graham

“Let me say something about Senator Graham. There will be news coming out in the next couple of months about how he has profited financially off of money that came out of Ukraine, laundered through Latvia and made it way into his bank account. And now we're talking significant amounts of money. Department of justice is looking at it.

Those are serious allegations leveled by CIA officer, former CIA officer Larry Johnson.“

If it is true, then that is really bad.

But I question the motives of "former" officers spilling the beans about ongoing investigations. What if the CIA/Justice Department was not ready to make this investigation public? He may have just hurt the entire process.

Also, I'm tired of people saying "just wait until this comes out" being treated as news. Months from now, if nothing comes out, no one will remember this segment, but right now, it is being treated as fact in some circles. It's basically drive-by rumor posting.
