Defensive Questions for Bama vs. UGA

Georgias defense this year: not as good against the run as in the past. I know Kirby is challenging them hard. Georgias defense is also better at cornerback and safety than previous years

Georgias offense this year: While balanced, is much more pass heavy than in years past.
one of my uga co-workers is saying he expects it to be a shoot out this year

contact and non contact injuries are bound to happen. Hard it’s are bound to happen. However there is no place is the sport for when a play is over and someone runs over to purposely throw themself on an already injured area. Plays like that should be reviewable during the game for a penalty and ejection and then after the game for being banned from college football

some targeting calls are difficult because two players are moving as tackles are happening, I’m talking about intention to harm after a play

we lost shaun alexander and tim castile (among others) to cheap shots by those dirt bags

Question. Why are people saying this uga team is not as good as the past two years?

Their d front 7 may not be as good just because of the tackles but very good. The DBs are better than the past. The offense seems better than the past two years and more multiple in how they can attack. Plus they may have the best o line. Rb not as good but better wrs and another year more experienced Bowers.

To me this seems like their best team out of the last two years especially without Bennett throwing ducks a few times a game.

How do they stack up statistically?

The edge defenders have been less disciplined this year than in the past, and have struggled at times playing "contain" on the outside. The interior defensive line, while good, is not at the elite level of the past in terms of size and speed with missing Jordan Davis or Jalen Carter.
Milroe be like:

Bama gave up 244 yds rushing with an average of 5.8 yds. per carry. Defense will need to be in control in the trenches.

Little better than 2021 and parts little less than 2022. Which is expected while breaking in new qb instead of a 20 year senior so slower start. So not much is different than the past two just slightly different offensive scheme and better players at certain positions and worse at others. Which is why I don’t understand saying this years version is not as good as previous, it’s just different and did improve throughout the year more so than last years. Not saying they are all time great or the last two were either it just seems like people here devalue all their teams every year.

Scoring defense, they are no where near as good as 2021 and slightly worse than 2022 - and this before the extra 3 games against top ranked opponents this year. This defense is not nearly as good as the last 2 years, and not in the same hemisphere as the 2021 defense.

Bama must consistently pressure Beck by any means possible. I would like to see the same look in his eyes as we saw in Gino Torretta' s. The majority of so-called experts said Bama had no chance against Miami. We know how that turned out.
