Unless that kid says he hates snow and goes to UGA or Free Shoes....I'd imagine he's bringing that big time recruit he got Jackson State as well. The one Saban had words about.

He did add "he'll have to earn it" after that, but I've only seen a few places show the whole quote.I'm not sure how announcing right off the bat that you are bringing in your son to be the QB is going to work out for team morale.
But it's Colorado so
My thoughts, as well. "There's gonna be dissension and I'm gonna cause it".Reminds me of CPB and the pre-season camp @ TA&M...only more verbal than physical at this stage.
He did straight up tell them if he didn’t run them off he was gonna try and make them quit. Followed it up with the fact he wanted to know if they’d quit on him before he got in a game situation. My thoughts, as well. "There's gonna be dissension and I'm gonna cause it".
Bill McCartney figured out how to tap into California for recruiting and that is what he built that program on in the 80s. They really did go on a great run in the late 80s into the early 90s and were a huge thorn in Nebraska's side (OU was on the slide). But when he stepped down, Neuheisel couldn't quite keep the formula going. Gary Barnett recovered things, but wow did he allow some wild stuff to go on and they've just never recovered from that fiasco.Colorado over the years......has been one of the worst Power 5 programs in the country.
They finished 1-11 this year. Most of those players have no concept of winning or what it takes to win. They need some tough words.
They had those great 1989 and 1990 years. Did really well in 1994-96. Other than that they've had two 10 win seasons....1997 to present.
In that same time period they've had 18 losing seasons.
Since 1997 they've had horrid seasons of:
2000 3-8
2006 2-10
2009 3-9
2011 3-10
2012 1-11
2013 4-8
2014 2-10
2015 4-9
2021 4-8
2022 1-11
They haven't been competitive most years.
They are a program that should be competing for conference titles regularly, at a minimum.
Wow, I had forgotten all about all that Gary Barnett stuff. Remember when Bama had a fax campaign from fans to hire Mike Dubose....I love the group of dozens of students cheering for his arrival. I guess that's what a perennial losing program will do to a fan base.
Agreed. I get the feeling the northern schools are going to more affected than the ones in the south. But Prime is going to change the landscape of recruiting in a significant way.This. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Colorado in the top10 recruiting rankings sooner than later.
I mean, he got the #1 player in the country to sign at an HBCU. Full stop. That is unreal.
As in, don't be surprised when top recruit(s) / player(s) picks Colorado over teams like Bama, OSU, Michigan, UGA. He really connects with players.
Add to that what he's shown he can do at JSU, which has been impressive, and right now it looks like his unconventional approach to, well, everything, might not be an issue after all.
PLEASE don't throw me in that briar patch, Bre’r Fox!I like the word “poach”. The coyote has been killing my chickens, so we’re going to poach the coyote.
