Oh this hurts so bad to see this.
It makes what is really important totally clear. I held my children closer tonight.
May God help and comfort all the victims of the storms.

Thanks Hog..This will go down as the worst tornado outbreak in Alabama history according to James Spann..This will be the day we compare all future outbreaks in the future..

God Bless all those in Alabama.
Makes me feel so bad to know I take way too much for granted.
We all need to band together and help out in any way we can. Donate food, money, supplies - and if you can't do that, please donate your time.
Our precious state is going to take a long time to recover from this.
Roll Tide!

I'm not easily fazed by a storm but this one scared the hell out of me. Please keep Tuscaloosa and the rest of Alabama in your thoughts and prayers.

Rosedale is the housing project referenced in the post. Got mixed feelings. Blessed beyond belief and overjoyed that the storm went right over us and all we got was a couple branches on the front lawn. But my heart breaks for those over on 15th and McFarland. There are Many people that worked on those establishments who I had personal relationships with that I'm worried sick about because I haven't heard from them. God is good, though.

from what I can read and see, Rosedale is no longer. Total devastation. Those folks need our prayers and help in a big way. Glad you're property and family are okay! You folks in Ttown keep us posted!

I can believe it..Folks are saying this will be the strongest tornado in US history..It's being reported this was the strongest 88D signature ever detected...Even beating out Greensburg...Parkersburg...Moore...I can believe it..

Does anyone have any news in the Arab area? I've been trying to reach my parents for awhile and all circuits are busy or down. I saw that it was in Cullman possibly headed that way. I do hope you all are ok!!!

I spoke with my mother in Arab earlier this evening. They have had no power since noon today. She's having trouble calling out or getting calls in on her cell phone, but I was able to reach her after trying many times. The Ruth Community north of Arab has been devastated by a tornado - 5 people killed, many people injured and one man missing.

Lots of rescue workers coming in from other parts of the area to assist - passing by her house, thank goodness.

Prayers going out to everyone everywhere!

I was in university village and watched it form. considering the damage around us and next to us, my friends and i are very lucky to be alive. a couple of hundred feet away from us it completely leveled everything. we were all confronting the fear of death. when we came out, everyone was standing around in shock, and a group of people thoughg they saw something, starting running, all of the sudden everyone starting sprinting back with looks of horror on their faces. the way to describe the way i felt is utterly terrified

My thoughts and prayers go out to the good people from the great state of Alabama tonight.
Ditto from me from AZ. Most of my relatives are in central and south alabama and are fine. I was in a twister when I was 12 in Ashford. It is an experience I will never forget and I'm lucky to be alive.
