Thoughts and prayers to all affected in Alabama and the South from the Hog nation. I was moaning and groaning about losing a tree and some shingles from some wind damage in Arkansas Tuesday night. After seeing the devastation from yesterday's tornadoes I'll just shutup about my piddly problems and continue to hope and pray for everyone down that way.

any atheletes, staff hurt?
I saw a tweet from Tommy Deas that stated baseball team and staff is accounted for but that was it. I heard rumors last night that at least one football player missing, but either that was just rumor or he was found.

I also saw that Coach Saban spoke to a group at Ferguson encouraging them. There was a picture but no comments, so I don't know if he mentioned the team and staff's whereabouts or not.

Thank you all on this forum for your input as through last night and this morning you remain one of the only venues of news/input of what is going on and has happened.

Prayers for all the area continue to be lifted; very hard to work as my thoughts continue to return to "home"; unfortunately we are in a position of having to leave Little Rock and try to get into T-town as we have been unable to get in touch with my wife's mother (lives just off Hargrove, east/north of the mall). Does nayone have any information on roads or ability to get into the city?

thanks

Ok, finally heard from mother-in-law and she is ok. Talked with a friend as well and he said national guard is wanting folks to remain away until things settle more, we are not going for now.

Just horrible heart wrenching thoughts as we wait and watch, God be with you all in rescue and survival mode - be safe Bamacon.

The video is so eerily similar to May 3, 1999 in Oklahoma. Long track, F5 in a major metropolitan area. Prayers for the great State of Alabama tonight. Your Sooner brothers hearts are with you.
I had just started working for a power line contractor months before that tornado.

I have a cousin teaching on campus, is all the professors accounted for? I also have one that just retired from Stillman I havent heard from....

I posted this in the other thread. My sister and her family are south of Gladston. I've yet to speak to her, but been told they survived the tornado in a ditch with her family. The home was detroyed, there is no basebent so they left the home. a baby was found dead in the road and its Mom is missing. This is a small country area very closenit. Wellington is the area. Being so far away and relying on cell phones. I actually texted my neice as I watched the weather channel and gave them updates.

Praise the LORD for their safety, as I pray for the ones who have lost someone.

Looking at the picture of the path, it makes me sick to my stomach. My 2 sisters live on Helen Keller Blvd. Just WAY too close for comfort. She took a quick video before taking cover in the bathroom of a neighbors (since they live on the 3rd floor). Thank God they are both alright. It was a scary few minutes before they were able to get a text to us. So sad.

I heard that Shannon Brown's daughter was killed. Has that been confirmed? It's just horrible.

Just got a tweet from Andrew Bone stating the same thing. I don't know if there if "official" confirmation though.

I'm just heartbroken. I can't stand to think of their fear and possible suffering if trapped overnight. :(

So thankful for her safety. I can't even imagine how difficult communication must be. No power and many cell towers down. I'm hoping more and more people will find their loved ones as communication becomes easier (whenever that might be).

When my mom contacted me, it was through her landline...her cell was not working...I am sure partially because everyone was trying to call at the same time.

Just got off the phone with my cousin. They are stacking body bags at the V A hospital. The news isn't reporting the deaths yet. I fear that the report TideMan09 put up may be true. My cousin does animal rescue over in Coker off Sam Sutton and she is getting calls. Does anyone know if Eutaw was reporting damage? I can't get ahold of my cousin from there. Thanks.
