Clay doesn't want to give it up. I sure hope this doesn't amount to anything

Alabama Notifies OKTC Of Cease and Desist Letter Sent to T-Town Menswear In December 2010 : Out Kick The Coverage

But just as Alabama works to put out this fire, OKTC has received multiple other pictures that provide evidence of substantial connections between the owner of the store, Tom Albetar, pictured above with Nick Saban, and current Alabama athletes. Indeed, it appears that the owner of the store, Albetar, has even used another current Alabama athlete Marquis Maze in advertisements for his business. Maze, a junior wide receiver for the Crimson Tide, is pictured idn the third picture below, posing in the men's store holding a helmet.

I would encourage all Bama fans to A)not link articles to ambulance chasers like Travis. and B)When you see a link to an ambulance chaser like Travis, do not click on it. He thrives on "clicks" and the more attention he gets, the more it encourages him to run with unfounded rumors like he just did. I know it's hard to ignore these morons, but I would suggest someone just giving a summary of what was said--so he doesn't get alot of "clicks" from us. In essence, you are supporting him trying to bring down our program when you click on garbage like this. Sport by Brooks is in the same category, FYI.

Agreed. Travis is scum and I've thought that ever since I heard him on JOX a couple of years ago. He hates Alabama since he's a Tennessee fan.

This story about the Tuscaloosa mens clothing store should emphasize it once more that the NCAA needs to give Auburn the Death Penalty or something close to it. They will stop at nothing to destroy our program and ruin our players' careers. They nearly did it Julio and Ingram over the "fishing trip". Also with Jerrell Harris' laptop thing. I am just praying to God (not the one that AU prays to) that the NCAA absolutely levels their program. Those fans are straight up evil. They are just completely out of control. The NCAA is going to have to do something drastic because Auburn fans know they are screwed and they're going to try and take Bama down with them.

He's a joke.

He's to sports journalism what Yugo was to European automotive industry and what MD 20/20 is to fine liqueurs.
What the heck? Do you mean to tell me that all these years that I've been drinking Orange Jubilee that it isn't considered a drink of high quality. I mean, I really thought it was top drawer.

I would save my prayers for far more important things if I were you. Just worry about supporting your university and athletic teams, and don't worry about what happens elsewhere. You will be much happier. Roll Tide!

I'll worry and pray about whatever I want to. Auburn fans are trying to get MY school in trouble and have been doing so for a long time now. I graduated from Alabama and put thousands of dollars into the university. I'll be damned if I'm going to sit back and watch a bunch of nutcases at the cow college try to get our program in trouble.

Talking about what Aubies will do to bring down Alabama - yesterday, I listened to the Roundtable to hear stuff from Media Days. One Aubie calls in and this is the convo:
Reg the Aubie: "Yea, I read in the paper Sunday that Mal Moore turned in something like 36 secondary violations..."
RT guys: "That number is about right and a low one, too."
Reg: "... And one of them was a player getting money. Isn't Alabama still on probation for the textbook scandal?"
RT guys: "Yes."
Reg: "Well isn't the NCAA changing it to secondary violations are major ones now?"
RT guys: "No. They rule that has been discussed means that after several secondary violations a team could get in trouble."
Reg: "So Alabama wouldn't get in trouble for being on probation and a player taking money?"
RT guys: "No."

What made me mad was the barner acted like no one knew about the player taking money. Unless it was some huge secret, that player would be Marcel, and that was taken care of last August.

he conveniently failed to remember that he recieved benefits, not money and yes that was Marcel dareus who served a suspension and paid back the cash value of a trip to Miami.

Re: Clay Travis Says We Are In Potential Trouble

The story blows up in Clay's face in 3, 2, 1
Interesting you should say that. In the past you would be right. Whoever published an article like that would have done some research, checked sources, then published a story. Clay Travis just comes home from a bar and rattles off a "column." There was no merit to the "story" to begin with and he'll suffer very little residual fallout.

He has lost one reader. I can go to message boards for rumor, innuendo and flaming. Why would I visit his crappy site?

Re: Clay Travis Says We Are In Potential Trouble

I don't think the issue is that Travis loves UT and hates UA. He'd sell his Volunteers down the river if it made for a good story or good radio, and that is all he cares about. Imagine if the crew from Jackass covered sports, and that's what you have with Travis. He's out to amuse himself and his buddies like that idiot Lance Taylor or Chris Vernon.

As for the "ad" with Marquis Maze, I wouldn't put it past the idiot store owner to use the ad without checking with UA Compliance first.

UA has been aware of this and sent a cease-and-desist letter to the store back in December. This goes on all the time. I have read other articles about Michigan and their QB last year where the same thing happened. The schools responsibility is to notify the store and tell them to stop. They also have to investigate to make sure there were no benefits received by any players and none were.
