Dylan Moses Returning

One of the other things that needs to be considered is how much the final draft order changed over the last week. It was profound and might indeed have cost JJ some serious coin. Several of the teams that have tremendous need at WR dropped because of strong finishes or total collapses by other franchises. 3 were in the top 15 and now are all out of the top 15. It happens. Washington will almost assuredly take Chase Young since it jumped to the 2nd spot. We’ll see how it goes but I think he’ll be ok.

Moses coming back is pretty awesome. I still can't believe it till I see it but I'm starting to think Tua really might come back. Or he's just trolling everyone.
He’s going. I’d love to see him again but he’s either a 5-6 pick at worst. I think even if he had to miss a year Miami or the Chargers will take him and they pick back to back. It sounds like his prognosis is very good so he’s probably going to take the plunge.

Yea I agree with all of this. Like I said I'll believe he's coming back when I see it and he could be just trolling but some of his social media activity makes me think there is a shot he comes back.

I wonder if there are 30 guys with "Top 15" status?

And maybe 60 guys with "1st Round" grades.....

Otherwise, I just don't believe Jeudy doesn't qualify....

This is what I have heard over the last 10 years or so - about 50-60 players each year get 1st round grades. All are legit, in that all could be taken in the 1st round. But, clearly, all will not. That is why a top 15 grade is so important, and the advisory committee makes no such distinction, so you have to look elsewhere.

Can we have a contest to pick who goes and who stays? Because my football picks have sucked the big orange!! And, well, I need to feel better about myself as we head into 2020
We will know in a few days. They will all probably make their intentions known pretty soon after the game.

I'll take a stand now:

Coming back (Confident):
Smitty
Leatherwood
McKinney

Coming back (not as confident):
Ruggs

Not Coming back (not confident):
Najee
Tua

Not Coming back (Confident):
Jeudy
Wills

Wills is simple -- for me. He's rocketed up boards as the season went along -- none of our other guys did that. The NFL Draft is often influenced by "emotional" picks as the season goes along....

examples: Q last year, Burrow this year..... Wills will go because his momentum is going up fast!

I agree except I would swap Tua and Ruggs and move Najee to not coming back, confident.

I tend to agree on Najee.....some of my lack of confidence comes from the fact that I know he and Tua are close -- and if he could build on his speed, he could move up considerably.....

I know DH was able to lose some weight and picked up some "breakaway" speed from his SO to JR year.... so it's possible, but Najee doesn't have a weight issue -- so, his speed, is likely his speed....

But -- he could improve his status -- and he hasn't had a ton of carries.... so he has a lot of tread on his tires

His stats will diminish next year as he would have to split carries with more great RBs.
And neither this year or next will help. RBs are a dime a dozen and you really need to get to the league and play for that second contract. With Swift, JK, Hubbard, and Taylor all in its just a loaded class. Teams will be able to get really quality backs at bargain prices. He still did a LOT in improving his pass blocking skills to help him get drafted.

Leadership on defense. That's what has been lacking for a bit now, and that's what he represents. It's a smart career move for sure. It benefits the team for sure, but for Moses, it's a smart move personally, and he's to be commended for having that kind of maturity. It will show on the field, in the classroom, and his future once he is done at U of A.

One thing that has to help him is his ability to catch the ball coming out of the backfield. He looked good doing that this year. As I watched Dobbins the other night I could see the running looking good for him, but his catching not so good.

Dobbins and Swift are both great receivers - but Najee is as talented as a TE at the position. But many NFL teams really don't care about that. Look at Henry. He is a GREAT receiver. Because of the injuries to Alabama receivers, he ran routes at Alabama's pro day for your QB (Coker). He didn't drop a single pass, and some of those catches were incredible. But the Titans don't/won't throw him the ball. Some teams really don't do this - even now.

Hell, they wouldn't even hand it off to him the first couple of years ;)

Saban on Dylan Moses coming back, "We had to make him comfortable on how we insure him." I'm sure there were several lessons learned from Saban and the AD IRT not having insurance for Tua after his injury. Could be a nice bargaining chip to bring back a lot of the draft eligible juniors..
