You never know how good someone is until they are given a real opportunity to prove themselves.
It makes me wonder about Bama's QB recruiting. They still have a brand that will attracts QB recruits but it prompts me to ask what is the attitude of those who are highly sought after. Are they going to be attracted to Bama with the examples of former Bama QB's being successful elsewhere after not playing a down at Bama. It occurs to me that talented athletes do not desire to have a similar experience to Ty Simpson.

All those top athletes think they will be the next Tua or Mac or Bryce or Jalen and not worry about Ty Simpson.

He could end up being "the one that got away" but remember this is not the SEC.

As we saw yesterday, get outside the SEC and the talent level drops off significantly.

But I'm glad he's doing well as long as we don't play him.

My understanding is that once Holstein got on campus Saban and Co immediately felt he was a 'miss' for what they needed.
That's odd because through three games as Pitts starter he distributes the ball very well to his wr's. He has very good pocket awareness and field vision. But oh well, looks like it worked out good for both parties. I hope he continues to get better and keeps developing. So far he's had three consecutive 300+ yard games with alot more TD's than it's.

I said that Eli would be the first Alabama QB to hit the transfer portal. It is good to see he has landed the starting job at Pitt. The next to leave the football team will be Dylan Lonergan, although he may stay and shift to baseball. Supposedly he has MLB talent. If he decided to transfer and stay in the SEC, there are at least 5 or 6 teams that would want him.

I am fine with Milroe.
You don't have to worry, Holstein is at Pittsburgh now. LOL! He wasn't ever going to start here but he has the physical and mental tools to be a very good D-1/FBS quarterback and you never know, he could develop over the next three years into a NFL draft pick. But I'm glad he's getting a chance to play and not buried down a depth chart. He's a good ballplayer.

From what I've seen this last game was Holstein's best game. But I didn't watch all of any of his games. He looks like he is going to be a good one.

FWIW he and Milroe basically have the same time to throw after 3 games.

Just glad it worked out for the kid. He was a class act and grateful he didn’t end up in our conference.
