He has not been well for several years. Had a stroke a few years back. That is the reason for the slurred speech.

He actually rebounded pretty well from that first one. I think he had another one last year and lost the ground he'd made up. Also, strokes are notorious accelerators of dementia. We have a friend who had a devastating stroke in her 50s. She's now in her early 60s and is well advanced into it. Doesn't recognize her husband...

i know its a bit chilly today, but he's bundled up like Nanook of the North. His health can't be good. He's also 78 years old.
