That’s the way it was done back then. It’s a wonder no one died. But I can take the heat better today than these air condition babies.

I grew up in Alabama and went thru those type of practices but the older I get the less I can stand the heat.

Before MM I was walking 18 holes -- 5-6 miles -- 2-3x per week. I have an electric bag cart and walk under an umbrella in hot weather. We teed off @ 7:30am -- I would drink a minimum of 48+ ounces of either water or Gatorade Zero per round. Looking forward to getting back to that in September -- albeit walking 9 holes at first..

Yeah, I doubt we'll know right away if one of the QB's does take "the bull by the horns". Most likely we'll only learn the starter at game time. Most fans think Game 1 will probably be used as an audition for all 3 QB's to see who starts against Texas.

I’ll be surprised if we’re not down to 2 guys by Game 1. It may not be stated outright, but there isn’t enough practice time to rep 3 QBs equally.

My guess is that at some point relatively soon, maybe after the 1st scrimmage, the competition will start to favor 2 of the 3.

I’m not so sure Saban said nothing. He often talks to the team through his answers to questions from the media.

Sounded to me like the message was not to think your own way is the best way, have gratitude for people trying to teach you, and have enough humility to take to heart that your way might not be the best way.

I don’t know if the message was directed at a single player or a number of them, but it would seem that there’s an OMOP (on my own plan) issue that’s serious enough to address semi-publicly.

All sorts of things can be read into that and some maybe would prefer for him to be uptight and bothered but I think all that suggests his happiness to be back into full football mode. I really believe he enjoys coaching and doesn't see a time in the near future when he's not doing that.

When Saban is loose and laid back, it traditionally means he knows he has a great team on his hands. When he's completely silent, that's when we should be worried.

It SHOULD be the type of game where if a dress rehearsal is needed, it can serve as such. I`m just glad Texas isn`t first. If it turns out to be more competitive than that, we`re in deep kimchi IMHO.

I think we could run (rush) 3 plays against MTSU and win going away.
