LOL! The subject has drawn some heavy fire hasn't it? I find you often get the strongest reaction from people when you touch on an insecurity.

For the worriers... RT @Lil_Eazy_Ana_42: This has to b in my top 5...maybe even number one worst morning Eva

Apparently @Lil_Eazy_Ana_42 is Lacy. Does anyone know what may have happened this AM? Is it related to the knee/ankle?

Love Fowler. The thought of him running behind that OL or being a fullback with some of our other Rb's is a pretty scary/awesome thought. He could definitely wear some teams down then pop them with some of the faster guys.
Obviously you're being facetious, but I do think the Lacy injury is a legitimate concern. It's probably no surprise that as soon as his knee and ankle injuries pop up, suddenly Yeldon is taking first team reps and Saban is talking about all of the backs having a role. I mean, when a guy has knee, ankle, and toe injuries, even if they are all relatively minor, in the aggregate that is a major mitigating factor.
Lacy will play this year, but I think it's pretty clear unless he magically gets a lot better very quickly, we're going to have to be very careful with him. If we can get 150 carries out of him, that might be as much as we can realistically expect barring some medical surprise. I just hope he can shoulder a good bit of the load against Michigan and Arkansas so we give guys like Yeldon, Drake, and Hart some time to get some game reps before they have to take on a bigger share of the burden.
I might be all wrong, but as of right now I just have a hard time believing we can count on Lacy for 20 carries a night in November and (hopefully) December. I don't see how fighting through a couple of months of SEC defenses is going to help him get any better.
Coach Saban even openly said last spring that Eddie could do some good things and Jalston could do some good things and Dee could do some good things but that T.J. was one of those guys who could "Do it all".
I honestly would expect to see Eddie brought along very slowly. He may start against Michigan but I won't be surprised if he doesn't.
I think Coach Saban will truly try to get him healthy for the stretch run rather than playing him a bunch early.
We'll see but any rate I think we're fine at the running back position.
sip
TJ will play plenty if he learns his blocking assignments. That will be as big a factor in playing time for our young backs as anything. If AJ gets to air it out more this year the backs will need to pick up the blocking assignments for things to click.

Anyone got info on how Eddie Williams is performing?
BTW, unrelated, but news to me - I guess Tana Patrick has changed his number to 11.
Looks like it's Michigan week. Here we go!!
That's right! 'Bout time to close this thread. Game week is practically upon us!
In before the doors shut... After reading all of this thread as I was just a lurker at the time, I have never been so privy to this much pre season news about the Tide.... I for one do really thank everyone who participated to let me get some info that I would not normally get.... Game week is upon us and I am thankful that almost no controversy has come out of the Capstone... I know as young athletes have some wildness still in them and I know Coach Saban does a tremendous job of monitering... So my hat is off to Coach and the players who have gone about this practice so business like and kept their noses clean with the business at hand...That's right! 'Bout time to close this thread.
