I saw this on some TV replays for the games (possibly Rutgers snow game), a receiver in the endzone catching a TD pass and some snowballs were thrown by the fans to try and distract him.
So I started to wonder what would happen if in a big game like this weekend, a wide open receiver in the endzone was interfered with by fans (of either team) by throwing something (water bottle, ice, ect) and dropped the pass.
What would be the call? Who would be penalized? Would it be a touchdown? And what would happen if it was on the last play of the game, like Michigan State's hail mary pass win over Wisconsin?
I am sure there are rules in the NCAA rulebook to cover this but the repercussions could effect the BCS game, the SEC Championship game and one or both teams seasons.
I know, I know, I'm thinking too much. But, it could happen. Then what?
