Not really liking the low expectations - this is not the first Debbie Downer article I’ve seen. Maybe it's a good thing to start the season below the radar.
I don't understand it at all. We return the majority of the #10 scoring defense in the country, with some key guys also returning on offense, and almost certainly better QB play. I've seen us picked 12th nationally, which is crazy, because we were 11 this year (not counting the bowl game), and should be improved.

That said, I kinda love it. We've gotten used to being the betting favorite, but sometimes I think we would benefit from having the underdog factor. Also, this plays right into DeBoer's comfort zone. He thrives in the underdog role.

I get why someone who doesn’t follow the program closely, and thinks losing Milroe is a loss believes that we will not be great next year, and will probably be comparable to the 2024 team. Once the legitimate media personalities who cover college football 365 days a year dig into rosters and who is returning and production levels of those players, they’ll realize this team will be much better in 2025. Not that I honestly care what they think, but I do believe the narrative will be much more positive come August.

It may actually be a good thing if a majority picks against us since the most popular opinions are frequently wrong. I remember when popular opinion was that when the playoff expands to 12 teams Alabama would be in the playoff every season. I realize some of those opinions assumed Saban would still be at the helm but even after retirement a majority thought with talent left over from the Saban era we'd be there.

Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
Taking my crimson-colored glasses off I don't have an issue with their prediction.

Until proven otherwise we have the following question marks going into next season:

-Unproven QB position
-Offensive line issues
-Suspect running game
-Quality at OC

That's a lot question marks for a team expecting to compete for a title next season. We haven't gotten the OL fixed in several years now. What makes any of us think we will get it fixed this season? We've been trying to fix it for almost four years. Until these things are proven to be corrected, my prediction is 9-3 ceiling 7-5 floor. Get the QB and offensive line corrected and now we're talking about a title run.

I love it. Should help motivate the guys to train hard in the off season.
