Fedor fighting on CBS tonight

I think it is much safer. there is a bit more blood, but wrt brain damage, it seems like the fighters suffer a lot less trauma to the brain than boxing.

Yeah, in boxing you get hit in the head scores of times; the cumulative effect can be severe. And, if you get in trouble, you get a standing eight count so that you can recover enough to get beat some more.

In MMA, there are fewer head strikes because in the split second you are stunned your opponent finishes you off, and the ref stops the fight.

Plus the design of MMA gloves is not conducive to heavy and repeated punching.

I hope Fedor joins the UFC, but don't see either side budging on contract demands. Fedor won't give up Strikeforce and Dana won't sign him if its still there. Anyone else see it that way or do yall see Fedor eventually in the UFC?

Correction... Fedor won't give up M-1 Global and the insistence that they co-promote with UFC. Dana rightfully told them that isn't going to happen (He's not about to let M-1 get fat off of UFC's name). Strikeforce, on the other hand, has no problem letting an outside company co-promote with them.

Don't get me wrong - it is pugilism in its rawest form. But it is killing people. I wouldn't ban it (freedom), but I won't support it, either...

I love to watch the sport like I do football. It is a contact sport like football and people will get hurt. I watch a boxing match in the past where a boxer died during the match but they didn't talk about banning boxing.
I guess it is a personal decision if you wish to watch.
