It's why I hate the rule and think it should be eliminated unless they can figure out away to fix it so everyone definitively knows what is and is not targeting.

I honestly believe, with no evidence, that there were ulterior motives behind this no call. They did not want to give UM another shot and an automatic first down. They also did not want to potentially suspend the TCU player for the first half of the title game.
That’s the thing. Everyone knows what targeting is and isn’t. The problem is people see what they want to see, and no one can agree on what actually happened. The same thing happened with the UGA hit on Harrison.

How many times has a play been reviewed, and there’s clear evidence that something did/did not occur, but they still get the call wrong anyway? We can have all this technology in place, but it doesn’t matter when humans are still the deciding factor.

True, but there are different levels of incompetence. I guess Jason Autrey and his crew are proof of the Peter Principle... :rolleyes:
