Film Guy on what's going on with Bama's passing game

The passes in the middle of the field were Ty's strength early on. Are defenses defending them better now?

Hope we can expose Georgia with some of that, albeit losing JC at TE hurts us. This may be why we are seeing Brooks in the slot more than RW cause he seems more willing to catch and absorb contact. By question is why not play Germie Bernard some in the slot and let RW line up at RW, which might help our deep threat again?
They were long passes to the middle of the field early in the season. What is open now is the intermediate routes between the LB and S. How he and CRG do not see this is unbelievable to me. We do not run quick slants on blitzes, curls and do not use our TE enough. Again, how do you not see this when you know its coming.

We used Cuevas quite a bit vs Oklahoma. However, we are having to run a lot of seven man protections because of the amount of pressures that we are seeing. So we are having to keep a TE in for protection.

As far as us not running slants, the pick 6 vs Oklahoma was a slant, we threw a slant vs Auburn and it was nearly in the dirt. Ty has a tendency to hold onto the ball a little long. When you have tendency to sometimes be slightly late on throws, a slant isn't the best ball to be throwing. Ty's INT vs EIU was on a ball over the middle. I just don't think he is seeing the field well right now. I think he is "seeing ghosts" sometimes so he is looking down at the rush and not seeing the whole field. I think he is also trying to be too perfect, hence the holding onto the ball too long.

Nick Saban identifies what Ty Simpson needs to 'do a little better job' of doing
Saban told The Pat McAfee Show on Friday that Simpson has "done a great job all year long" before offering his advice.

"One of the things that I think is important, is Ty has been leaving the home position to change plays – platform," Saban said. "And the other team is changing the defense. So that doesn't create any advantage for you by checking the play on offense. Hopefully he'll do a little better job of that this week and that won't be a problem for Alabama's offense."

Didn't want to start a new thread so figured I'd put this here.
