RTR. What a year.
Locking the game thread. Let it end with a lot of positivity

Thanks to everyone that realized the magnitude of the game, and kept the negative towards the officiating (which was sketchy at times) and our lack of a true rim protector. Both were out of our control

Questioning players efforts and coaching choices are ok if done in the right light, but game threads are about keeping people updated on the game, not as a place to complain about coaching decisions or specific player inadequacies

RTR. An amazing season.

That was a heckuva season! I wasn't expecting a final four run after the way we finished the season but they came together and did something that no other Bama basketball team has ever done. They played hard last night but UConn is the best team in the country IMHO so to be in it until near the end is nothing to be ashamed of. I hope most of this roster comes back along with the freshmen and transfer(s?), which would make us a legit final four team again next season.

ROLL TIDE!!!

Disappointing ending to the program first ever FF appearance but proud of this team punching above their weight to get there.

BTW, if you gotta lose there’s no shame in that being to a UConn who I expect to run Zedey and Co. out of Glendale.

I don’t think conn’s big man will be able to bully that guy around.

they both camp in the lane and have favorable calls, I hope they take the same Uber and it gets lost in the desert for a couple hours.

Great run and accomplishment for Oats and the team. Oats says they're not done. Vows to be back. It's going to be interesting to see next season's roster.

Y'all see where some little sisters rolled Toomer's late last night? SMH

I didn’t do the game thread but I don’t know why anyone would bash any player or coach.

We were playing the defending champions and #1 seed. They are a basketball school and making or contending for the Final Four is expected there. Imagine if we played them in the football semifinals next year.

We were a 10-11 point underdog and it was tied with 12:04 left in the game. We lost by 14 so it wasn’t far off. It was our first trip there ever. I’m not a fan of saying we were just happy to be there but it was a great ride.

Did I honestly expect us to win? No and I doubt anyone else here did either if they take off their crimson glasses. I was disappointed in the outcome but I am excited for the future. We have been in the wilderness ever since Wimp left and I think we have a solid future if Oats can ignore the siren calls when a Kentucky comes calling.

This team really came together. They should be proud of this run. Got to appreciate them and Oats. Hope everyone that can will come back and maybe add another big. I know the freshman coming in are ballers. Huge props to Sears this whole year.

If we get the right guys back we could be very good next year. I imagine we'll be high up in a lot of preseason polls depending on who comes back

ADGB just locked CNO down to another extension making him a top 5 paid college Bball coach. He did this (it was announced) the day Michigan HC Howard was fired. With CNO's Michigan roots that was a huge development. And KY has announced Cal will return.

No doubt, CNO will be targetted by some blueblood type programs in the future BUT "bluebloods" in basketball aren't as much of a thing anymore and CNO has seen there's nothing stopping him from making Bama one of the elite college programs in the country.

Honestly, we are already there and the only thing left to do is win the FF now. CNO already knows he's the GOAT of Bama Bball coaches and there's so much left to be accomplished.

I think he stays around for a long career.

I am proud of our team's effort all year, not just in the NCAA tournament. We could have used a little more depth, but you play with what you got. Tip of the hat to Coach Oates who has done a great job piecing this team together for the Tournament run. A Final 4 appearance ain't too shabby.

If he is happy knowing he will always be #2 on campus he will stay for a long time and make a lot of money. He will be 50 in the fall so he has a lot of years left in him.

Maybe bluebloods aren’t as important as they once were but there is still the ego thing. We just hired Washington’s football coach.

The thing I take away from this year is the determination of the players and being willing to settle in to CNO’s system. I didn’t see players that thought more of themselves than the team. As a fan I will always be all in for a team like that. These players will look back on this moment of their lives as a life shaping event that forever changed them. I’m so very proud of how these young men conducted themselves.

Byrne was smart to include a prohibitive buyout on Oats’ new contract. That said, Oats strikes me as the type who’d rather create his own legacy elevating Bama to the elite than trying to live up to the standards of a blue blood.

It’ll be interesting to see what effect if any this FF run has on players considering the portal.

This was an amazing coaching job.

Consider what we lost last year: Miller, Clowney and Beds (can't believe he left and for what???) and all 3 assistants who went on to become HCs.

This year's team was literally assembled on the fly: 3 new assistants and 3 major transfers with Nelson, Estrada and Wrightsell. Along with Sears and Griffin, this became the starting 5.

It was truly a team of guys who came together and made a run to the FF. Nothing close to the most talented team we'll see in the future. That, to me, is the biggest reason to smile.

We'll have a lot more talent in the future (probably even next year) than we did this year, but we still ascended to the top.

Nowhere to go from here but up!

makes you wonder what might have been if Clowney came back for another year. I saw he had 4 blocks the other night against the Pistons. I think the team deferred too much to Miller, but Clowney would have been a good role player. Anyway, great run. Nothing surprises me moving forward with this coach. For 2023-2024 season, It Looks like we will lose in the National semi’s to the eventual National champion in basketball and football.
