So, every year the first pick in the draft is by a terrible team. Sports radio I was listening to was pointing this out. Being an awesome player on a terrible team may not always lend to a player being able to showcase their abilities. I was wandering on the history of these first players once they reach the NFL. Are their careers worthy of a first round pick ?

yes. situations are different though and those situations will determine the rest. and might i add, it's not looked at as choosing the best player to showcase his ability. it's about getting the best player to help make your team better. you are hoping to get the next Lebron or at least a franchise player

You get the first pick to get the best player to address your glaring weaknesses. Unless you're Al Davis, he always picked terribly.
