On the clip of Aaron that appears NOT to be 100% tackle force in play. Remember to avoid injury they will have different sets with the defense told to go anywhere from "2 hand touch" to "kill all humans". this looked like something in between, BUT.... when he broke loose in space the DB tried to box him in and that instinctive move he made, there is no defense for it but to surround him with more players, Clearly this kid has a gift.

This remind me of a comment by Saban and Sark:

As for Alabama possibly using four wide receivers this year, Saban said it would not be because of the tight end situation, but rather because of the quality of the receivers who have proved they “have shown great capability of making plays.”

He also pointed out, “When you get in that situation you are very limited to some degree. When you have a tight end in the game, the multiples of what you can do — you can do two-back runs, you can do four-open, which is the same as having 10 personnel in the game — and you can do a lot more things from a protection standpoint.”

Sarkisian said, “It’s our responsibility as coaches to put our players in the best position to be successful, whether that’s scheme fundamentals, technique, whatever.

“Red personnel for us – four wide receivers and a running back – is something we’ll definitely incorporate into what we’re doing. I’d be remiss to keep those four wide receivers not on the field when it presents itself to be an advantageous situation. They’re four very dynamic playmakers. So we’ve got to continue to try to develop that package to make sure when we use it we’re not just throwing four wide receivers on the field, but that there’s a rhyme and a reason for it.”
This was few years ago.

Quickest way for Anderson to see the field is the slot. Two steps and slant, two steps and stop, swing back and wide for the screen. As long as he proves he’s got enough macaroni noodles between the ears to understand what the db in front of him is doing.

And he’s got to sell out on blocking when he’s not the primary target. Let’s hope he does that because he’s gifted with the ball in his hands.

I would hazard a guess that for a WR the thing that will keep you off of CNS` football field is not the occasional drop ( just don`t make it a habit ! ) but what you DON`T do without the ball in your hands.

Ekiyor and dalcourt. And we are replacing both tackles.

Just Cohen and Mclaughlin in camp right now as returning starters.
OL coach has his job cut out this spring. Guards are probably settled, but beyond that it's a big giant ? McLaughlin played well at times but from what I read he was over powered against Georgia. Then you got a bunch of guys at tackle that were all high recruits but haven't showed us much. They are going against a deep and experienced Defensive Line so it's probably going to be ugly but they will get better. Adding Steen would help.

What's the latest on Steen? Does he have any more visits scheduled to other schools? 🤔

Aaron Suttles came out with an Athletic article today that is behind a paywall. But it was basically a positional break down based on what he has heard about spring practice so far.

Here is a quick summary

WR - Kenrick Law and Aaron Anderson have impressed as freshman, he's been told they are both "legitimate." Burton was compared to a faster Metchie type as far as his skill set. JoJo Earle and Leary both had "decent" first scrimmages and Saban mentioned Holden's consistency. But the position is far from settled and a number of freshman WRs are coming this summer.

OL - at least one version of the starting OL was LT Amari Kight, LG Javion Cohen, C Seth McLaughlin, RG Damieon George, and RT JC Latham. One version of the 2nd team OL was LT Tommy Brockermeyer, LG Terrence Ferguson, C Tanner Bowles, RG Jaeden Roberts and RT Tyler Brooks. Apparently Latham is almost assured to earn a spot somewhere and he has heard Tyler Booker is a name to watch

QB - nothing huge mentioned here. Milroe has been the 2nd team QB but Ty Simpson has shown why he was highly rated.

RB - Again nothing huge here.

DL - Name he has heard the most is Jamil Burroughs, Jaheim Oatis needs to keep trimming down, and he's been told to watch for Tim Keenan and Khurtiss Perry as younger guys on the line.

LB - Moody has mainly been the 1st team guy next to To'o To'o but Deontae Lawson has also seen some 1st team reps

DB - Kool-Aid had an INT in the 1st scrimmage and will probably be one of the 2 CBs. Khyree Jacskon has also been starting. Eli Ricks was in a black non contact jersey and apparently needs to gain some weight he lost after injury last season.

He didn't say anything huge about the safeties.

Comparing 2021 first 8 practices to 2022 first 8 practices. The number of WR & DB running 20+ mph has increased from 4 to 12. Average speed per position is also up ≈1mph from last year. Team speed as a whole is up by 2.9%. Squad is locked in & playing fast!
