FIRST TAKE | Ty Simpson is a generational talent! - Shannon on Alabama beating South Carolina 29-22

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

He's a really good player, but idk if I'd tab him as a "generational" talent.

Then again, maybe I’m not even sure what that means.

What’s a football generation?
Yup make a good point..I consider Derrick Henry or Bo Jackson generational type players, I'm not saying Ty isn't a generational type talent, give him time earning that kinda praise..

Ty's off too a great start though..

My youngest is 16 and we were just talking about how there have been like 10 “generational” QB prospects in the last 5 years.

I feel like there has to be a Yogi Berra quote for this situation.
“Good point son…Generational QBs only come around like twice a year…”

Gen Talent for us:

Bennett
Thomas

Henry

Smitty
Tua

Will Anderson

Those 6 were unstoppable on the field by the opposition for the most part and ready to make an impact immediately.

Only thing that held Tua back was Health and Locksley

Only thing that held Anderson back was Golding.

But those 6 for the most part had to have entire game plans created around keeping them in check and they mostly failed.

That to me is Generational. The ‘Don’t come around often unstoppable’ players.

How about, “ If he stays inbounds, Lee Roy’ll get him. “ ?

We’ve had a few more generational talents than those guys, but the point is well taken. Ty, if this level of play continues, is a first rd pick and an All American. Generational talent…not in my book.

If you have 13mins of spare time I recommend watching this Shannon Sharpe & Ocho nails it exactly..

Really enjoyed this. I had forgotted about the woman who was asked what she would do with her lotto money, haha!

I still don't think most folks understand why we fans were so upset after the Free Shoes loss. Respectable opponent and no shame in losing a tough opening game but it was THE WAY we lost. I mean, we didn't look like we cared or had any fight in us at all. It was so reminiscent of the losses from late last year. We felt like that had not been corrected and maybe it hadn't.

The way we started playing after the FSU debacle showed we were at least on the right path. Really impressive that the coaches and team were able to turn it all around so completely and so fast. No one really believed all this to be possible. Quitters don't usually change their stripes and it sure looked like some players quit on a lot of plays in that game.
