Question: Fourth down and 3 from the LSU 34 what is the Call?

Hard count, try to draw them offside. They are a fairly undisciplined bunch. If that doesn't work, at lot depends on how we've been moving the ball, but either take the delay penalty and punt, or go down the last second or so and run wide, hoping Trent can find a seam. I would not try a FG of that distance at that time in the game, without regard to what happened 11/5.

If I was going for it..I'd run the same play we ran against auburn a couple years ago that won the Iron Bowl..When Upchurch snuck out of the backfield & caught the game winning TD....

You go for it...

Run or Pitch outside to Trent and let him make a move or run over someone, he will get 3 yards!

I'd just as soon give it to them on the 34 with a chance to make a first down as to likely give it to them on the 20 or the 34 with a kick or punt...

If you don't kick then the best play in this situation has always been and always will be a play fake left, Quarterback rolling out right with the tight end dragging across on a crossing route underneath the wide receivers who take the corner and safetys deep. They NEVER cover the tight end in this situation or at least it seems that way.

If the game is on the line, I say Cody-5. Otherwise, I gotta agree with Sip - play action, roll out, short pass to the TE.

I wonder if AJ will ever be trusted to throw the quick slant? Lots of teams will pass in that situation, and that quick slant is almost impossible to defend as long as your WR makes the catch.

[QUOTE=studmlb55;1776470.... If the option looks to be getting stopped either punt the ball immediately or do a drop kick for three points.

Drop kick for three points? I don't know if anyone in the northern hemisphere can drop kick a 45+ yard FG - especially w/ the LSU D running at them. I think it safer to go for the conventional 51 yd FG (in a dome) I do like your option attack though, just hopefully it would be practiced 30+ times.

Don't know why not - guy can throw a bb through a cheerio.

It always depends on what the defense shows. I'd line up in the pistol with one tight end and three wide outs (two to the weak side). Call two plays in the huddle one run a draw and the other one a play action pass. Work on an audible for AJ to tweak plays based on what the defense shows.

AJ at LT, Jesse Williams at WR, and have Fluker lined up at C, have Fluker hike the ball to himself, then have him run the statue of liberty with Dee Milliner taking the handoff. Then have Dee hand the ball off to Jerrell Harris going the other way, who chucks it to Cade Foster, who is deep.

GO for it whats the worst that can happen? If we punt they get it on the 20 their ave. feild position is around the 30 in the first game against us. So if we make it great if we dont we have the D in the land!
Run for it maybe pass for it or punt, you pick. Middle of 3rd quarter 7 to 7 game.

I would run Trent right over BJ. But you all know CNS is not going to do that if I gambled I would bet the house he sends Cade out there to kick a field goal the first time after that all your suggestions are possible.

4 wide, double combo (ends split wide with slot backs on each side)
trent at deep tailback, AJ under center
125 pass, trent takes deep fake heads for 5 hole, blocks blitz or runs circle route
AJ fakes to trent draws up looks first for:
left split end running stalk n go, left slot runs skinny post to freeze safety
right slot runs drag, gaining ground as he crosses right to left, makes sure he has first down yardage
right split end runs the dig route

AJ looks quickly for left split end, then left slot running skinny post and last resort slot running drag
Deep fake to trent freezes LB, catches Matheau looking in backfield while playing cover 1
after fake end runs by him as slot freezes the safety and AJ throws rope for TD.
