By Jess Nicholas TideFans.com Editor-In-Chief Aug. 29, 2017 Alabama has never shied away from front-loading its schedule during the Nick Saban era, and that doesn’t change in 2017. The Crimson Tide face off against a Florida State team many are predicting to be a playoff team in its own right, potentially making this the first […]

Great read Jess.
I don't know much of the FSU defensive backfield, but have heard some say they're the best group in the country. That's really saying something considering the group Jeremy Pruitt will be sending out on the field.
At any rate, looking forward to a great opener!!

Jess, reports from the FSU camp is LB Matthew Thomas who many considered their LB has been absent this whole week due to injury as you mentioned. that is a huge blow for them if he can't go this Saturday.

I think the game will be won by us in our defensive line vs. their offensive line. Our strength vs. their weakness ought to disrupt their offensive game plan. Assuming we move the ball and put up some points, I think we'll be pleased with the outcome!

They may very well be, but the numbers from a year ago don't support it. Also the best DB FSU has is playing his first game since a major knee injury. I'm often reminded of how long it took Dont'a Hightower to get back into form after his injury.

It's something that the best opponent on Alabama's regular-season schedule was still a 7-1 Alabama edge in our previews. This might be the most boring year ever for writing game previews. :p

Great stuff as always! One cannot overlook the intangibles here too. The uncanny ability to storm out of the gate as Alabama has a tendency to do in these games under Saban trends to a tight game for about a quarter and a half before we run away with it.

Jess, you're already in championship form. Really appreciate what you do. This is truly a sight for sore eyes. Roll Tide, sir!!

Thanks Jess! Been waiting all year for your review and Bama football to be back! I have a good feeling our O-line will gel and be more impressive than we may think.
