What brought-on that need ... if I'm not being to personal?

I had I couple of herniated discs and spinal stenosis in my lower back. I had tried conservative treatments like steroids, muscle relaxers, and nerve blocks over the past year trying to avoid the knife.

Finally relented and had surgery Thursday morning.
