Gems on streaming networks part 2

My wife and I are currently watching Trying on Apple+. It was recommended as something with a Lasso vibe. So far we have really enjoyed it. It’s about a couple trying to get pregnant and then later trying to adopt.

We just finished Omnivore on Apple TV+ . A very sensitive look at farmers growing food from organic rice in Thailand, The Tuna trade from fisherman in the Mediterrean to auctions in Japan, Acorn fed pork in Spain, Coffee growing in Rwanda, bananas and growing corn in Mexico and the US. We found highly worth watching.

Sugar starring Colin Farrell on Apple+. A sophisticated noir detective story set in LA with a very surprising twist at the end.

I'm currently watching Territory, a new TV series set in Australia, about the world's largest cattle station (ranch) that's left without a clear successor. The show has similar elements to Yellowstone, but is quite different. The show is filmed in the outback of southern Australia. There's 6 episodes, with no current plan for a 2nd season. But many believe they will extend the show. I've enjoyed it so far.

2nd season of "The Old Man" starring Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow is out...really quite entertaining. There will be a 3rd season with the way the 2nd ended. Very introspective on the part of the main characters...I could identify with Lithgow's character more than Bridges...but both are excellent.

Watched the first two of Landman. As stated, BBT is great. I wondered about it for a minute in episode one, but I am hooked now. Don't know when Taylor Sheridan sleeps!

I was only able to watch first episode of Landman and was a little disappointed. Some of the situations seemed to be a little too trite. Maybe it will find its footing and get better but unless its shown somewhere other than Peacock+ I'll have to wait. Potential is there but writing needs to improve.

It gets better. Give it another try. It is showing on Paramount +
