George Teague Asks Whether "The Strip" Counted

A few days ago, a Tweet asked what was the greatest play that never counted and some folks mentioned Teague's strip of Lamar Thomas in the 1993 Sugar Bowl.

George was not exactly enamored with this and this morning, he responded on Twitter quite eloquently.

Given that Teague's play cost Miami 77 yards, OF COURSE it counted.

One could argue it was the biggest play of the game.

Agree. Wasn’t it an offsides on the DL? I’m positive if Teague didn’t run Thomas down, it would have been a Miami TD. So of course it counted.
