The step dad had been taking care of his step-daughter since he married her Mom for many years but couldn't adopt because her birth father was blocking it. The birth father finally relented and the daughter gave her step-dad the adoption papers as a birthday present.

Yeah, I think the tropical storm blew some allergens over this way too. Strange.
My niece just started her freshman year of college...17 years after my brother & his wife adopted her from way out in the woods Siberia. Allergies are rough, huh?
